Cissexism means privileging cisgender people over transgender people. Cissexism means assuming it's more normal to be cis than to be trans. Cissexism causes a lot of people a lot of harm. So we're going to do our part to stop it!
Transgender people are more visible than ever, and with visibility comes backlash from some corners as well as honest misunderstandings and sincere but uncertain desire to help. Preventing Gender Fender Benders will give you the opportunity to ask questions that might feel awkward and develop knowledge and skills that will help you communicate effectively with coworkers, neighbors, and the public. Attending a Summer to Stop Cissexism learning event will put you ahead of the curve when it comes to understanding who transgender people are and how to make good on your intentions to treat everyone with dignity and respect.
